Why Join OES?

People ask why I joined OES,

“Isn’t it a cult? No, it’s a Sorority?”

I simply say, “It is the BEST!”

I try to explain all the things OES is,

that they cannot see.

A sisterhood, more than

letters on a shirt, I say.

More than traditional songs,

pearls, rituals, an

obligation, or a way of life.

A sisterhood is learning about

people, about yourself.

A sisterhood is giving without

expecting a return.

A sisterhood is receiving

without knowing it.

A sisterhood is learning respect

from others, as well as for

yourself.

A sisterhood will not solve all

your problems.

But I have made good friends

and found confidence there

to help me take life one step

at a time.

Everyone knows who we are,

The one the girls all want to be.

She's got such style, she's got such grace!

And don't forget her pretty face.

Nobody can forget a Star.

She's got charm, she's got smarts,

She's the one boys keep in their hearts.

Of course, she's a Star!

There's been none like them in history,

Just one look and you will agree,

There's nothing like a Star!

So who, you ask? Just who is she?

There's no question, she's an Eastern Star.
