National Domestic Violence Awareness Day (“Purple Thursday”)

On October 23, 2025, you should wear purple for Purple Thursday, an event to raise awareness and support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Participating by wearing purple, a color long associated with power and activism, sends a visible message of solidarity. This action is part of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) in October and aims to break the silence surrounding these issues. 

Wearing purple visually shows support for survivors and demonstrates that they are not alone. Simply wear any purple item, such as a sweatshirt or a ribbon, on October 23, 2025.
